A series of reported tornadoes has torn through the midwestern United States, ripping roofs off homes and leaving roads impassable. Officials in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota have expressed relief that the storms did not result in loss of life. In Wisconsin, homes were damaged and residents were trapped in basements. Minnesota saw at least 30 homes damaged. The National Weather Service says the damage was likely caused by tornadoes. Recovery efforts are underway, with officials emphasizing the need for community support and rebuilding.
