CHICAGO, Ill. (NBC Chicago) -- Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

Williams threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns in a 31-14 win over the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, putting together one of the best performances of his professional career in the victory.

His four-touchdown performance also earned free hot dogs for Bears fans at The Wieners Circle on Tuesday, with lines stretched around the block for the giveaway.

According to Pro Football Reference, Williams is the first Bears player to win the award since wide receiver D.J. Moore did so during the 2023 season, and he’s just the third Bears quarterback to win in the last decade, joining Mitchell Trubisky (2018) and Justin Fields (2022) in that category.

Elsewhere, Minnesota Vikings cornerback Isaiah Rogers was named Defensive Player of the Week after he returned an interception 87 yards for a touchdown, and then forced a fumble and returned it 66 yards for another score.

Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis blocked a field goal that would have defeated his team and returned it 61 yards for a touchdown, and was named Special Teams Player of the Week as a result.

Other Bears to have won Offensive Player of the Week honors in recent seasons including Jordan Howard during the 2016 campaign, and Josh McCown in Week 14 of the 2013 season.

Williams is currently tied for second in the NFL with seven touchdown passes this season, trailing only Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson. He is sixth in the league with a 107.6 passer rating, and is tied with Aaron Rodgers for the season’s longest completed pass, a 65-yard strike.

Williams and the Bears will aim for their second straight win on Sunday afternoon when they take on the Las Vegas Raiders, with kickoff set for 3:25 p.m.
