Baseball Field Generic (C)

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The Illinois High School Association state baseball championships for classes 1A & 2A will take place at Illinois Field. 

Eight teams will compete in the semifinal round on Friday, June 12. Championship games will be held on Saturday, June 13. 

President and CEO of Experience Champaign-Urbana Jayne DeLuce said, "After hosting in 2025, we are thrilled to secured a five-year contract to host the IHSA Boys 1A & 2A State Baseball Tournament at Illinois Field. Teams and fans can expect unparalleled amenities at the home of Fighting Illini Baseball and a brilliant community experience." 

Teams competing include: 

  • Class 1A: Tremont vs. Jacksonville; Greenville vs. Louisville
  • Class 2A: Elgin vs. Freeburg; Ottawa vs. St. Joseph-Ogden

The tournament is expected to bring in nearly $400,000 in economic impact.
