DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Two people were taken to the hospital, including one in serious condition, following a crash in Decatur Tuesday morning.Â
The Decatur Police Department responded to a traffic crash just before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Garfield and Main Street.Â
Decatur police found during an investigation that a 52-year-old woman driving her gold SUV and a 42-year-old woman driving a black SUV collided at the intersection.Â
The driver of the gold SUV was taken to the hospital. Police stated the passenger, a 58-year-old man, was unresponsive at the scene. He was taken to the hospital and treated for life-threatening injuries.Â
Additionally, the driver of the black SUV was uninjured.Â
Police said the intersection was shut down for around three hours.Â
DPD's Fatal Accident Investigation is conducting the crash investigation.Â
