EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WAND) — An 18-year-old woman was arrested Friday after an early morning shooting in Effingham.
The Effingham Police Department said officers responded to reports of gunshots just before 2 a.m. outside a home in the 300 block of North 3rd Street.
When they arrived, officers learned that the people inside the targeted vehicle had already left the area and were at the police department.
According to police, officers found evidence indicating that a single round had been shot at a vehicle, with an adult and two teenagers inside. Nobody was hit.
Officers identified 18-year-old Jalen N. Herschberger as a suspect. She was arrested on pending charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Her detention hearing is set for Monday, July 27.
