CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The #17 Illinois Fighting Illini welcome the reigning national champions, #1 Ohio State Buckeyes, to Gies Memorial Stadium.

Last week, Illinois won its second straight game after its Bloomington beatdown, defeating Purdue on the road, 43-27. The Illini jumped out to a 27-14 halftime lead and did not look back as they kept the Boilermakers winless on Taylor Swift album release weekend. Haters gonna hate!

Illinois and Ohio State are facing off for the first time since 2017, and the series has been one-sided with the Buckeyes winning the last nine. However, the last Illini win over OSU came in 2007 in a 28-21 thriller, coincidentally when Ohio State was also ranked #1. Could history repeat itself? Tune in Saturday to find out.
