Illinois WBB jumps into AP Top 25 for first time this season at #25

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - After matching the best start in program history, Illinois women's basketball is ranked #25 in the country.

Illinois Athletics said this is the fourth straight season under Shauna Green that the Illini have been ranked in the AP Top 25.

Illinois was last ranked in four straight seasons from 1996-97 through 2000-01.

The Fighting Illini are 14-3 on the season, including a 3-0 start in the Big Ten for the first time since the 1999-2000 campaign.

Illinois will face #8 Michigan at 6 p.m. Thursday.
