DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — St. Teresa High School has announced the appointment of its next boys basketball head coach.
The school said Wednesday that Rodney Walker will take over as head coach of the program, after Mike Noonan left to join the Millikin University basketball staff.
Walker is a Decatur native and alumnus of St. Teresa. He played college basketball for New Mexico State University, leading the team in scoring and earning an All-Big West first-team selection.
After college, he spent 10 years playing basketball professionally overseas in Taiwan, Australia, Malaysia, Finland and Brazil.
Walker also previously served as the head basketball coach at Eisenhower High School for 10 years.
"I am super excited to return to my alma mater, St. Teresa High School, as the head boys basketball coach," Walker said. "It's a true blessing and honor to be back in Bulldog country. I started here and I will finish here. I cannot wait to get to work."
Walker will also join the teaching staff, teaching P.E. and weightlifting full-time.
