(WAND)- Lincoln Community High School student-athlete Kloe Froebe has been named Ms. Basketball by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association.
On Friday, the IBCA in partnership with the Chicago Tribune, announced this year's Mr. and Ms. Basketball, Morez Johnson of (Harvey) Thornton High School, and Kloe Froebe of Lincoln.Â
Both players will be honored at the IBCA Coach of the Year Luncheon on May 4th at CEFCU Arena on the campus of Illinois State University.
Froebe, a 5-foot-9 senior guard, led the Rail splitters to a perfect 38-0 record and the IHSA 3A state championship this past season. She scored 1,063 points in her final year alone, ending her career with 3,262 points to rank her fifth all-time for scoring in state history.
In the title game, she scored a record 36 points and six assists in the 60-44 victory over Glenwood High School.
The Colorado State commit is a four-time Class 3A All-State selection and, as a junior, finished runner-up for Ms. Basketball. She also was named Gatorade's Illinois' Girls Basketball Player of the Year.
In the classroom, Froebe has maintained a weighted 4.92 GPA and ranks at the top of her class.
