NORMAL, Ill. (WAND) -- Pleasant Plains falls to Breese Central in the State Semifials. 

The Cardinals faced Breese Central in the 2A State Semifianls Thursday afternoon. 

Pleasant Plains would find themselves down six points after the first quarter. At the break the Cardinals would be down 17-8 to the Cougars. And afterr three quarters Pleasant Plains would have a big deficit to claim back from being down 35-18. 

The Cardinals would put up a fight in the fourth quarter outscoing the Cougars 22-13 in the quarter but would ultimately fall to Breese Central 48-40. 

The Cardinals were led by Anna Weber who scored 17 points and 10 rebounds. 

Pleasant Plains will claim third place 53-33 over Edward County.
