DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Millikin University baseball team lost its first matchup of the NCAA D3 regional round to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, 7-2.
Despite scoring a pair of runs in the first inning, Big Blue would be held scoreless for the remainder of the ballgame.
The Eagles would cross their first run of the contest in the 4th, and would take the lead an inning later on a 2-run single. A 2-run homer in the 6th frame would extend UWLC's lead, which would hold for the remainder of the outing.
Millikin will now face Wartburg College on Saturday at 11am, with the loser being eliminated from the tournament. Wartburg fell in their opening matchup to Baldwin Wallace, 9-3.
