DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) -  The passage of last night's cold front is definitely being felt across the region today. Temps are down over double digits from Wednesday's high temps to today. However, the same origin for the chillier air is also the source region for wildfire smoke/haze. This is not anything new to us, as we have had a few bouts with Canadian wildfire haze already this year.

Much like recent hazy events, the smoke will not mix down to the ground, so we will not be able to smell it. At the same time, a large area of clouds will return to Central Illinois overnight through Friday. While shower activity should not be much, the clouds will likely shroud much of the haze.

Brighter weather will return this weekend, just in time for the Full Corn Moon.

Stay safe and stay sweaty out there.
