Does anyone else have weather whiplash?? Temperatures have been up, down, around, and all over the place the last few weeks, and that will be true again this week. After the cooler weekend we have experienced, temperatures will climb back into the 70s by the end of the upcoming week. It's not just this week, though.

NOAA's Climate Prediction Center puts out maps forecasting temperature and precipitation trends for the next week and two weeks (among other things) which show a higher likelihood of warmer and wetter conditions continuing. The map above shows a 70%-80% chance of above normal temperatures for the next 6-10 days which takes us through mid-April. Average high temperatures this time of year are in the lower 60s for this area, and average low temperatures are around 40º. The map below shows a 50%-60% chance of above normal rainfall through that same period for our area.

Remember, much of our area is still experiencing drought conditions, so we need the rain. The updated U.S. Drought Monitor will come out Thursday and should show improvements after all the rain our area saw in the last week.
