DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Rain and thunderstorms are back! As mentioned in numerous previous blogs, be careful what you ask for. Yes, rain is desperately needed, and this week's soggy-cast is filled with H, 2 and O.

We're at a point where we have to take the bad with the good. This bad news is in the form of severe weather. At least initially, the main threat from these storms is hail. Although many thunderstorms have been associated with hail, most did not have hail the size of a quarter or larger. That is the definition of a severe storm.

Warmer, more humid air will press into the state from the South over the coming days. The risk of other severe weather factors may rear their ugly head, so stay ahead of the storm with the WAND weather app.

Stay safe out there, and stay weather-aware.
