SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — An arrest has been made after a Springfield man was shot and killed Friday.
A 31-year-old Springfield man was shot near the intersection of South 13th Street and East Jackson Street at 8:48 p.m.
The man was taken to the hospital, where he died around 11:45 p.m.
The identity of the victim is being withheld until the family is notified.
23-year-old Randy Crockett from Springfield was arrested for firearms related offenses including possession of a firearm – No FOID and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Crockett was transported to the Sangamon County Jail.Â
This incident remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division.Â
