Leadership change coming to Decatur Family YMCA

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The Decatur Family YMCA will soon be under new leadership.

CEO Dominic Santomassimo announced Friday that he accepted an offer to serve as CEO of the Southwest Alliance of YMCA's. His last day with the Decatur Family YMCA will be on May 13.

"This transition brings both excitement and reflection," Santomassimo said. "I'm incredibly proud of what we've accomplished together and deeply grateful for the support, encouragement, and partnership so many of you have shown me along the way. The impact we've made in our community is something I will always carry with me."

Santomassimo said he is confident in the strength of the Decatur Family YMCA moving forward. He said the board of directors is working closely with YMCA of the USA to ensure a smooth and successful leadership transition.

It is unclear who will take over for Santomassimo.
