DECATUR, Ill. (WAND)—The Downtown Decatur Music Festival is returning soon, and organizers want to remind people that they do not need to buy a ticket.

In a Facebook post, organizers said the event is becoming popular enough for scammers to target. They remind people heading to the event that it is free. If you are a food vendor, you should only deal with the Decatur Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, the head organizer, or the vendor organizer.

The two-day festival takes place August 30 and 31 in downtown Decatur.

There are four different stages, with 24 different bands playing from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Multiple local businesses are sponsoring the event, including: Donnie's Homespun Pizza, Promax Construction, TapRoot, Decatur Blueprint, Inc., Mystic Greenz, Decatur Earthmover Credit Union, Romer Bros. Tree & Shrub Service Inc., Decatur Area Convention Visitors Bureau of Illinois, Decatur Arts Council, CEO. A. Mueller, Having a Ball Productions, Lockhart's Barber College, and Hope.
