5 Things to do this weekend

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The weekend is upon us, and there are plenty of things to do and see across central Illinois.

Here are a selection of events, markets, concerts and more happening Friday, November 14, to Sunday, November 16, 2025.

Wintree Wonderland at White Oaks Mall 

White Oaks Mall is launching a new holiday tradition called Wintree Wonderland, bringing both classic Christmas favorites and brand-new attractions.

Visitors can explore a forest of 50 decorated trees, enjoy hands-on activities like Santa's Workshop Make-It/Take-It, grab festive photos, and check out everything from a gingerbread playhouse to train rides.

The experience also highlights nearly 30 local community organizations, making it a festive way to give back while you celebrate.

Candlelight: Tribute to Queen and the Beatles

Candlelight Concerts are bringing a multi-sensory, string quartet tribute to Queen and The Beatles to The Orpheum Champaign, all performed under a warm glow of candlelight.

The 60-minute show features iconic hits like "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Here Comes the Sun," and "We Will Rock You," with seating first-come, first-served by zone.

The venue is ADA compliant, open to ages 8+, and offers multiple dates for a unique night of live music in a stunning setting.

Wrap it Up: Holiday Bow-Making

Barclay Public Library is hosting a hands-on holiday bow-making workshop for Friends of the Library members on Saturday, November 15 at 10 a.m.

Led by longtime crafter Bobby Anzalone, the beginner-friendly session includes all materials and teaches simple techniques to create festive bows. The event is free with registration required, and new members can sign up on site.

Soup & Cider Fest at the Railyard

The Railyard on 66 is hosting its cozy Soup & Cider Fest on Saturday, November 15, featuring scratch-made soups, creative cider specials, and live music.

Each vendor will offer their own warm, comfort-filled soup along with both spiked and non-alcoholic cider options. It's an all-day fall celebration with photo ops, local vendors, and plenty of cozy vibes.

Decatur's First Annual Holiday Shop Crawl

A Holiday Shop Crawl runs November 15–23, featuring 10 local stores offering stamps for every stop you visit.

Shoppers who complete their card can enter to win a gift basket packed with gift cards and vendor goodies. It's a fun way to support small businesses while tackling your holiday shopping.
