MONTICELLO, Ill. (WAND) — Carle Health will host an annual camp Saturday to help children and teens process grief.
Camp Healing Heart is a day-long event helping children and teens experiencing the death of a loved one. Staffed by over 70 volunteers, the camp provides campers the tools to help them process grief while connecting with kids who have gone through similar experiences.
The day includes therapeutic sessions mixed with typical camp activities like a climbing wall and arts & crafts.
The camp is free and supports kids aged 5 through 17. It is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 4.
The event will be at the 4H Memorial Camp at Allerton Park in Monticello. Registration information can be found on the Carle Health website.
