DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A rainy start to the morning didn't dampen the spirits of Cop on a Rooftop at local Dunkin' locations.
Officers stood on the rooftops of those stores, raising money for the Special Olympics of Illinois.
The fun brought people out to grab a morning treat, but Special Olympic athletes will greatly benefit from the money.
"All of the people out here today, we were really excited to do this. We enjoy helping out, trying to make a difference in little ways and show people, 'Hey, we're here, we're willing to help out.' We've had some really amazing people come in and donate. They don't even want the cups; they just want to donate and come help out for a good cause," said Baileigh Donoho from the Decatur Correctional Center.
Last year, Cop on a Rooftop raised over $1 million for Special Olympics.
