SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — Artists, vendors and visitors gathered near the Old State Capitol in Springfield Saturday for the annual Old Capitol Art Fair.
The two-day, outdoor art gallery has been a tradition for over 60 years, according to the art fair website. It features dozens of artists showcasing paintings, photography, jewelry and handcrafted goods.
The art fair board chair Jonathan Nessler said the fair gives people an opportunity to experience new art.
"It's a great time, but the focus here is and always will be the artists. We have artists throughout the area," said Nessler. "The community welcomes them, and hopefully, they find something they love that they can't live without and buy it from them."
The fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. More information can be found here.
