DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Bringing the stars inside to inspire interest in astronomy.

The Heart of Illinois Community Foundation posted on Facebook that the Macon County Conservation District launched its new StarLab Portable Planetarium, all thanks to a $50,000 Community grant from 2024.

The Foundation added that the first public program was on Nov. 1.

"We're excited to be one of the few places that has a StarLab Planetarium that we can travel with and introduce so many people to the wonders of our universe!" said the Macon County Conservation District in a Facebook post Friday.

According to one comment on the post, the district said that the StarLab is not set up at all times and is currently looking into additional ways to offer public programming.
