DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Big news for local fast food fans.
Decatur has reopened its Sonic on East Prosperity Place near Walmart and Culver's on the city's east side.
The restaurant is under new leadership and has a whole new crew of employees.
"It seems like our most loyal, Sonic die-hard fans were waiting and chomping at the bit to jump on the very first day. But we're looking forward to all the other new people, maybe past customers that went away to come back to us," Sonic Area Supervisor Paul Riedel told WAND News.
The original location closed in 2024 after eight years due to operational costs.
