First ever LEGO Convention set in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD — Professional LEGO artists will be arriving from all over the country to display their creations and meet with fans at the ultimate event for LEGO lovers of all ages, the inaugural Springfield Brick Convention to be held at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, Saturday-Sunday, October 10-11.

Thousands of bricks will be available in the event's "Construction Zone," where attendees can get creative with their own builds.

Attendees will also be able to purchase LEGO merchandise, including retired or hard-to-find sets, available from multiple vendors.

This event will also include:

The Star Wars Zone.
Thousands of LEGO bricks to build with in the Brick Pits
The Castle Build Zone
Professional LEGO artist meet-and-greets
and epic LEGO creations built by local fan builders in the Fan Zone

A portion of the event's proceeds will go to the all-volunteer nonprofit organization Build Smiles Foundation, an organization that buys new LEGO sets for underprivileged children around the world during the holidays.

Tickets are $14.99 and are available for either Saturday, October 10 or Sunday, October 11. Tickets are expected to sell-out quickly, so purchasing early is highly recommended here.
