SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - "Get Your Licks on Route 66," as the Animal Protective League's Adoption Tour will make a stop in Springfield.
The tour will stop in the state capital from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at PetSmart on S. Veterans Parkway.
The event will feature APL's Mobile Adoption Unit, a climate-controlled shelter on wheels with cages and a meet-and-greet room where pets can interact with potential adopters.
For community members not interested in adopting, they can still participate in donating to APL through a giant prize wheel filled with pet-themed prizes. APL will also have apparel for sale on-site.
The Adoption Tour began in Los Angeles and has followed Route 66 on its way to Chicago.
Additional information is available on APL's website.
