The holiday crime drama Holiday Hold-Up is available on TubiTV, RokuTV, PlutoTV, Amazon Prime, and Hoopla.Â
The movie was filmed entirely on location in Champaign County.Â
Holiday Hold-Up follows a group of restaurant employees who find themselves jobless and desperate after their boss cancels holiday bonuses and announces the restaurant’s sudden closure just days before Christmas. They hatch a plan to rob his high-stakes Christmas Eve poker game, even though none of them have the skills to pull off a heist.Â
The film stars Jeremy Holm (House of Cards, Mr. Robot), John Pirruccello (Barry, Twin Peaks), and Agnes Albright (True Detective), alongside Emma Jo Boyden and an ensemble cast including Champaign’s Aaron Munoz (Stranger Things) and Jill Greenlee (Jordan and Jill).
Principal photography took place in Champaign and Rantoul, with key scenes shot at the former Otts Diner and Blind Pig, Neil & Church Streets, and the recently announced Flyover Film Studios.Â
