DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Thousands of people are without power Thursday evening as severe storms move across central Illinois. 

At 9 p.m. Thursday, PowerOutage.com reported the following counties with outages in central Illinois.

  • Sangamon County - 14,609
  • Logan County - 2,023
  • DeWitt County - 1,717
  • Macon County - 1,839
  • Champaign County - 9,834
  • Vermilion County - 12,167
  • Piatt County - 1,509
  • Christian County - 576
  • Moultrie County - 522
  • Iroquois County - 4,012
  • Ford County - 497

Strong storms produced several tornado watches and warnings Thursday afternoon into the evening.  

City Water Light and Power in Springfield said that multiple areas have been affected. Areas with the largest outages are as follows:

  • E. Cook to E. Laurel west of Taylor
  • Grand Central
  • Lake Springfield
  • Lincoln Park
  • Oak Ridge
  • Old Jacksonville & Monroe
  • W Washington near Jefferson Park
  • W. Koke Mill
  • Washington Park
  • Woodside Rd.

An estimated time for power to be fully restored is unknown.
