ARGENTA, Ill. (WAND) - Experience the marvels of the night sky at the upcoming 41st annual Astronomy Jamboree. 

The event will be held from 8-11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Friends Creek Conservation Area in Argenta.

Attendees can enjoy hot dogs, s'mores, a children's craft and giveaway prizes. Live music from Corn & Cotton will be on hand from 8-8:45 p.m.

Weather permitting, attendees should be able to view Saturn, Jupiter and closely examine the moon's surface. 

Participants are also encouraged to bring their own telescopes.  

The event is free, and those interested must register online by noon on Aug. 8.
