MACON COUNTY, Ill. (WAND)- The Macon County Health Department will be hosting back-to-school events starting July 30th through August 23rd.
All Macon County students are welcome to attend and will have access to age/grade appropriate vaccinations, physicals, lead testing, dental and vision screenings on select dates.
These events are walk-in only, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Below is a list of upcoming events and the services provided at each event.
Tuesday, July 30th, 2024
- When: 9:00 A.M.–3:00 P.M. (Mobile unit for physicals), 8:30–11:30 A.M. and 1:00–3:30 P.M.
- What: School vaccines, lead testing, and physicals in the mobile unit.
Friday, August 2nd, 2024
- When: 8:30–11:30 A.M. and 1:00–3:30 P.M.
- What: School vaccines, lead testing, and dental screenings.
Saturday, August 3rd, 2024
- When: 9:00 A.M.–1:00 P.M.
- What: School vaccines, lead testing, and dental screenings.
Tuesday, August 6th, 2024
- When: 1:00–3:30 P.M.
- What: Physicals (K, 6th, & 9th grade)
Tuesday, August 20th, 2024
- When: 9:00 A.M.–3:00 P.M. (Mobile unit for physicals), 8:30–11:30 A.M. and 1:00–3:30 P.M.
- What: School vaccines, lead testing, and physicals in the mobile unit.
Friday, August 23rd, 2024
- When: 1:00–3:30 P.M.
- What: Physicals (K, 6th, & 9th grade)
Those getting physicals can receive vaccines, vision screening, and lead testing.
Parents and guardians should come prepared with an insurance card and records, if possible.
If a person is not able attend this event, please call 217-423-6988 option 2, to schedule an appointment.
The MCHD encourages those needing back-to-school requirements to not wait until the school’s denial date.
