SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A Springfield Park District employee who died after being found under a lawn mower at Lincoln Greens Golf Course on Thursday has been identified.
According to WAND News partner WTAX, Park District Police Chief Patrick Murphy said it happened around 10:30 a.m. after a "workplace accident,"
The Sangamon County Coroner stated the man, identified as 51-year-old Daniel Crumrine, was rushed to a local hospital after being found underneath a mower at Lincoln Greens Golf Course in Springfield.
The coroner said Crumrine died just before 11:30 a.m., shortly after arriving at the hospital. An autopsy found that he died from crush injuries after being found under a lawn tractor.
The Springfield Park District sent the following statement to WAND:
"We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic accident that occurred at Lincoln Greens Golf Course [Thursday]. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family."
Crumrine's death is under investigation.
