MAROA, Ill. (WAND) — A person was airlifted from the Freedom Fest in Maroa Saturday night.
According to the Maroa Fire Department, an "emergency situation" occurred that required an air transport to "provide the patient with the most appropriate care as quickly as possible."
It is unclear what the emergency situation was or who the person transported is. The Maroa Fire Department said it does not have any updates.
In a Facebook post, the department reminded people that patient privacy is extremely important during an emergency response.
"If you ever find yourself near an incident such as the one that occurred last night, we ask that you think before pulling out your phone to record or photograph the scene," the department said. "While we understand that a medical helicopter landing in Maroa is not an everyday occurrence and that cell phones are part of our daily lives, we ask everyone to please be respectful and considerate of the patient, their family, and the medical personnel working to provide care."
