CHARLESTON, Ill. (WAND) - A Coles County man faces attempted murder charges after being accused of trying to set someone on fire.Â
According to a charging document filed in the Circuit Court of the Fifth Judicial Circuit, 57-year-old Deville O'Quinn is accused of pouring gasoline onto another man.Â
The document stated that O'Quinn was said to have attempted to light the victim on fire with a handheld torch lighter.
O'Quinn was charged with attempted first-degree murder, a Class X felony, and could face between six and 30 years in prison.Â
He was denied pretrial release Monday and will have a preliminary hearing Aug. 20.Â
