Monday, May 27

  • 8 a.m.: Memorial Day Fun Run, Fleet Feet, Decatur.
  • 9 a.m.: Woodlawn Cemetery, Champaign.
  • 9 a.m.: St. Mary Cemetery, Champaign. Presentation of colors by Holy Cross School Boy Scout Troop, national anthem sung by Holy Cross School Choir members, 21 Gun Salute, Taps followed by Catholic Mass.
  • 9 a.m.: Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda.
  • 9 a.m.: Roberts Cemetery. Refreshments to be available afterward at Roberts Gym.
  • 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.: Memorial Day Celebration, Scovill Zoo, Decatur.
  • 9:30 a.m.: Lisk Cemetery, rural Thawville, and Woodland/St. John’s Cemetery, Buckley, followed by refreshments at the Buckley American Legion building. In case of rain, services at the Legion post.
  • 9:30-11 a.m.: Philo Veterans Monument, downtown Philo; then Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Bongard Cemetery, Calvary Cemetery, rural Philo; and Locust Cemetery, Philo.
  • 10 a.m.: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sidney.
  • 10 a.m.: Gibson City Memorial Day parade in front of Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley school district office, followed by services at Drummer Township Cemetery. Kevin Brucker will be featured speaker. Services at Gibson City American Legion post in the event of bad weather.
  • 10 a.m.: Melvin Cemetery, or Melvin Community Hall in the event of bad weather.
  • 10:30 a.m.: Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
  • 10:30 a.m.: St. Lawrence Cemetery, Penfield.
  • 11 a.m.: Veterans memorial, Savoy.
  • 11 a.m.: Danville National Cemetery, co-sponsored by Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System.
  • 11:30 a.m. Elliott Cemetery.
  • 11 a.m.: Mount Hope Cemetery, Sibley.
  • 10:30-11 a.m.: Parade at former site of Paxton-Buckley-Loda Eastlawn Elementary, 341 E. Center St., Paxton, proceeding to Glen Cemetery for 11 a.m. service.
  • 11 a.m.: Maplewood Cemetery, U.S. 45, north of Rantoul.
  • 11 a.m.: GAR Cemetery, Homer, followed by smorgasbord meal at Jack Ellis Community Center.
  • 11:45 a.m.: Lincoln Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Urbana.
  • Noon: Veterans memorial, Werner Roessler Park, Gifford.
  • 1 p.m.: Veterans memorial, Rantoul Family Sports Complex.
  • 2 p.m.: Mount Hope mausoleum, Mount Hope Cemetery, Champaign.
  • 2 p.m.: Memorial Day Ceremony at Camp Butler National Cemetary, Springfield.Â
