DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - For most of this week, the weather has been pretty mild and predictable: warm and humid.

Fog and low-hanging clouds have plagued our late nights and early mornings around the Christmas holiday, but big changes are on the way.

This weekend a strong cold front will push through our communities. Remember, a cold front is like a wall, dividing two different kinds of air. On the leading side of this system, we are still in the warm, humid sector of this system.

On the back side of this system, the air turns drier and colder. Because the front is pretty strong, as it passes through, it will also bring us rain and a chance for thunderstorms.

Next week temperatures will stay in the 20s and 30s most of the week. We will share more details with you here and on TV as the cold front gets closer to us so you know when to expect each of these changes.
