(WAND) - The man arrested in connection with a baby's death in Christian County will remain behind bars ahead of his trial.Â
Christian County court records stated that 20-year-old Braxton Williamson was denied pretrial release.Â
The Christian County Sheriff's Office posted to Facebook Wednesday that emergency officials got a call around 8:45 p.m. July 31 about an injured infant who had fallen.Â
According to a charging document filed in the Circuit Court of the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Illinois, Williamson was said to have shaken the infant, which led to a "significant head injury."
The document said the injury caused retinal hemorrhages and a skull fracture.Â
He was arrested and later charged with aggravated battery of a child under 13.Â
An autopsy is pending, and the investigation is ongoing.Â
Williamson will make his next court appearance Aug. 17.Â
