DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Four historic venues will host the Taste of History event in Decatur September 12.
The event will go from 5-8 p.m. During the event, you can explore The Staley Museum (361 North College), James Millikin Homestead (125 North Pine St), Culver House (412 West Prairie), and the Governor Richard J Oglesby Mansion and Museum (421 West William St). Free trolley rides will be given to each of the venues with parking available at Central Christian Church located at 650 West William St. You can walk to each venue or drive yourself.
Each venue will have a selection of hors d’oeuvres and beverages, displays and informed docents to answer questions. “This event is a unique way to celebrate our past and engage with our present,” said Laura Jahr a committee spokesperson. “We always enjoy seeing new people attend these events and hope they return to our other offerings in the historic district.”
This event is for adults age 21 and up. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be served. Tickets are on sale now here.
The tickets are currently $40 each. Tickets will be $45 each after September 7.
