IL State Fair Cable Cars Ride

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - The Illinois State Fair unveiled its theme for the 2026 event on Tuesday: "Miles of Smiles."

According to the state of Illinois, the theme will honor the 100th anniversary of Route 66. 

The 2026 Illinois State Fair will run Aug. 13 to 22.

This year's festivities will kick off with the Illinois State Fair Twilight Parade at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 13, beginning in Lincoln Park. 

Parade entry applications will be accepted through Monday.
