SANGAMON COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - The Sangamon County Board is unveiling two new exhibits celebrating local history and the arts at the Sangamon County building.
The rotating exhibit installation is on display on the second floor of the county building through January 2026. It highlights local stories and talent through two showcases:
- "Made in Sangamon County" - Presented in partnership with the Sangamon County Historical Society. The exhibit explores the county's manufacturing history. Stories include early distilleries and tile works to household names.
- In collaboration with the Springfield Art Association, selections from "Pleiades (Seven Sisters)" highlight creativity and artistic expression from local artists. The exhibit features glass and ceramic works by local artists in the Springfield Art Association studios.
"We are incredibly proud to showcase the remarkable industries, workers, and artists who have helped define Sangamon County," said Andy Van Meter, Chairman of the Sangamon County Board. "These exhibits are the result of meaningful collaboration with our community partners."
Community members are invited to come see the exhibits during regular business hours at the county building. They will be on display for the next several months.
