Savoy doughnut shop closing after 6 1/2 years

SAVOY, Ill. (WAND) - A Central Illinois business is shutting its doors after six and a half years.

Industrial Donut in Savoy announced its closure on Facebook Wednesday, with its final day of business scheduled for Aug. 23, or sooner, depending on how long supplies last.

Customers with gift cards, vouchers, tokens, or loyalty points are encouraged to use them before the shop closes.

Not all doughnut varieties will be available due to limited inventory, but those who have already placed orders will be accommodated.

The store said the decision did not "come easily," and added that challenges like rising costs, decreasing sales and growing pressure from chain competition became "too hard to overcome."

"As we begin this next chapter and focus on the well-being of our family, we ask for your understanding and grace. Closing this business is one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever made, but we believe it’s the right one for our future," Industrial Donut said in the FB post.
