DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A Decatur man accused of having sex with an underage girl in late April has pleaded not guilty.
According to a sworn statement, 29-year-old Hugh Ritter was interrupted having sex with the girl in a stairwell at 156 S. Water Street on April 23.
Police said Ritter was previously caught twice kissing a victim in the stairwell of the building in the weeks leading up.
Decatur police made a warrantless arrest of Ritter at 100 N Water St. on May 13. He was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Macon County court records stated that Ritter was denied pretrial release.
His next court date is July 6.
