SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — The Keep Store, a shop selling sustainable and eco-friendly products in downtown Springfield, closed its doors on Saturday after more than three years in business.
In a Facebook post, the business said they considered moving the store, but it was not in their long-term interests.
"There is a markable difference in consumer spending since January," the post said. "The chaotic economy we have experienced this year has, understandably, caused many to pull back on their spending."
The business says any subscriptions have been cancelled and unfulfilled orders are being refunded.
The store plans to sell leftover equipment and supplies on their social media pages. Anything that is not sold will be donated to organizations in need.
