URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — A new exhibition is challenging preconceived notions about teachers' creative abilities.
"Those Who Teach, CAN," is a collaboration between students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and art teachers from the Champaign Unit 4 School District. The opening reception will take place on Tuesday, October 3rd, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Link Gallery.
Students from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, guided by Professor Somi Lee in their ARTE 475 class, embarked on an ambitious class project: creating their own exhibition.
Each student in the class assumed specific roles to bring the exhibition project to life. The collaborative effort extended beyond the classroom, as the students partnered with local Urbana-Champaign educators, who are also the featured artists in the exhibition.
These artist-educators, through their creative, inspirational, and thoughtful works of art, unequivocally prove that they CAN.
"Those Who Teach, CAN" will be open to the public from October 3rd through October 12th, with the grand opening reception on Tuesday, October 3rd, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Link Gallery, housed within the Art and Design Building at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
