2 juveniles arrested, accused of home invasion, robbery, vehicle theft in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Two juveniles were arrested in Springfield for a home invasion, robbery, and vehicle theft.

On Wednesday at 1 a.m., Springfield Police officers responded to the 1600 block of Seven Pines Rd.

A woman said she was woken up by the suspects who demanded the keys to her vehicle and her purse.

Police said the suspects forcefully took the items and left in the victim's vehicle.

Police saw people matching the suspects' descriptions near 14th and Brown. The suspects fled on foot but were taken into custody shortly after.

The victim's vehicle was recovered in the 1200 block of S. 13th St. Two juvenile males were arrested.

The juveniles were arrested for home invasion, aggravated robbery, residential burglary, and motor vehicle theft.

They were taken to the juvenile detention center.

All people charged with crimes are considered innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
