Decatur Rehabilitation Health Care Center

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A former Decatur nursing home is set to become garden-style apartments. 

The City of Decatur said in a Facebook post that the former Decatur Rehabilitation & Health Care Center at 136 S. Dipper Lane will become a 14-unit apartment complex. 

According to the City, the developer will invest around $1.2 million in the project.

The complex will have studio, one and two-bedroom units, featuring on-site laundry, outdoor gathering spaces, a gazebo and a barbecue area. 

The Decatur City Council agreed that the City will forego property tax revenue for seven years and waive building permit fees for the project. 

The City stated that the investment is anticipated to "offset over time."
