CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Multiple trees have been badly vandalized at Champaign parks.Â
The Champaign Park District said there has been significant damage to multiple trees around the city including Centennial Park and Douglass Park. The damage appears to be human-made and could result in some of the trees dying.Â
The damage has been reported to Champaign police. Similar intentional damage was found to trees in West Side Park last August.Â
The appraised value of the damaged trees is more than $3,000. Anyone who sees suspicious activity in the parks is told to call police at 217-333-8911.Â
