NOKOMIS, Ill. (WAND) - An abandoned Nokomis home was searched following a report of a possible explosive device inside.Â
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook that Nokomis police received information about a potential explosive device inside a home near Shane Cole Park late Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning.Â
After a search warrant was secured, the home was surrounded and neighbors were told to take shelter.Â
The sheriff's office said items resembling a pipe bomb were removed from the home during a search.Â
The items were eventually deemed non-explosive. Additionally, the sheriff's office stated that no explosive devices or material were found.
