Disabled American Veterans encouraging residents to donate blood

ILLINOIS - The American Red Cross is seeking blood donations during National Preparedness Month in September.

Red Cross officials say the amount of blood received through donations declines around summer holidays, and are encouraging residents to donate in order to ensure a "readily available blood supply."  Individuals who donate from September 2 through September 6 will receive a duffel bag, while supplies last.
