CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WSIL/WAND) - A new bill has been proposed that would ban pumping your own gas at Illinois gas stations.
The legislation was proposed by Illinois House Democrat Camille Lilly. Lilly represents Oak Park near Chicago.
House Bill 4571 was filed with the Illinois General Assembly last week, WSIL reports.
The Gas Station Attendant Act would require fuel be pumped by a gas station attendant starting Jan. 1, 2021.
The bill was referred to the Rules Committee.
