(WAND) - CASA of Effingham County and CASA of South-Central Illinois (Clinton and Marion counties) have announced their plans to merge programs to create CASA of the Fourth Judicial Circuit.Â
With the merge will be an expansion into more counties across the circuit with assistance from a federal grant received by Illinois CASA through United States Senator Tammy Duckworth's office.Â
Libby Moeller has been named as the new Executive Director. Moeller previously served as Executive Director for CASA of Effingham County from 2012-2016. She also served as Training Manager for Illinois CASA.Â
The Fourth Circuit includes Christian, Clay, Clinton, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Marion, Montgomery, and Shelby counties.Â
Both programs are not-for-profit organizations that focus on advocating for children who have experienced abuse and neglect in the Juvenile Abuse Court System.Â
CASA volunteers work with the Juvenile Abuse Court System to ensure prompt delivery of services and make independent recommendations to the court concerning children's well-beings.Â
