CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Two Champaign high schools have been named among the best in the country.
Champaign Unit 4 School District announced Central High School and Centennial High School were recognized on the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report list of "Best High Schools."
Central was given spot #89 out of 715 Illinois public high schools. Centennial was ranked #137 statewide.
Within the Champaign metro area, Central ranked third and Centennial ranked fifth out of 16 schools.
Among the Big 12 Conference schools, only one high school ranked higher.
Rankings are based on factors including student performance on state assessments, college readiness, and graduation rates.
